Who We Have Helped

Who Ipswich Round Table have helped

To be honest there is a long list of people we have helped. Not many people know that Ipswich Round Table have been in Ipswich since 1950 and it has never left. 854 Round Table was formed later a little later in 1964 and has been helping local causes since then. Below you will see who we have helped.

If you have any similar needs that are local to the Ipswich area please contact us through the site. We help many worthy causes, not always with donations but also with time, manpower and support.

Town 102 Kids Trust for Ipswich Community Playbus and 8 Children’s Nurseries – December 2016

We’ve worked with the Kids Trust before and for Rudolph 2016 we worked with them again.  The Kids Trust work on a wide range of charitable and community needs in Ipswich and they are doing some great work around the town.  Helping 8 nurseries with £500 each was great as was giving £7,000 to a community playbus project.

Baby Bereavement Fund – October 2016

Part of our Copdock Bike Show fundraising saw £2,000 go to this very worthy charity.  Many of our members have young children so it was a privilege to support this.

FIND – October 2016

It was a delight to donate £2,000 to this charity as well, one we know well and they are always so grateful for our support and what we can donate.

Suffolk Young Careers – Care Day for the Carers – April 2016

This year with Rob Hart as Chairman we did something new.  We put on a fun day in association with Suffolk Young Carers to give child carers a good day of fun.  We had laser tag, bouncy castles, face painting, hair, a DJ, food and a ton of other things.  It was an excellent day and well put on.  A great first for us as a group with many local companies contributing to this great day.

Parkinson UK and the MS Society – May 2016

Sadly we lost a past member of Round Table in 2016 and as a result we donated to causes which directly related to Sam, a much loved and past member.  £500 was given to both charities which was raised on our birthday night – our Charter Night.

Lapwing Education – March 2016

The last charity event in Craig Sennett’s year was our by biannual charity ball.  The beneficiary for this event was Lapwing Suffolk, a very important charity who worked exceptionally hard with us to make this the best night it could be.  We all had a great evening and raised £17,000 on the night – excellent work and we know this will be put to good use among people under 25 in Ipswich with learning difficulties.

Age UK Suffolk – Dec 2015

In December Age UK Suffolk were lucky enough to be the recipient of our Rudolph 2015 appeal.  In this we raised £20,000 for them and the work they do with their befriending service in Ipswich, something we are very pleased to have done.  This is the first time Ipswich Round Table has helped an elderly charity for Rudolph and it worked a treat.

Suffolk Mind – Oct 2015

October 2015 was Copdock Bike Show time again.  The Ipswich Round Table team and friends turned up en mass to help manage the admissions to this very popular event.  As a result and a generous donation from the event organisers and our own collections we are due to pass on a great sum to Suffolk Mind.

Goresland Primary School – July 2015

In 2015 Ipswich Round Table helped the SCS special care unit at Gorseland Primary School.  This was from our Time Bank project where we arrived as a big group of lads and sanded, painted and decorated the outside play area of the school.  We also built some features for the children to enjoy and we weeded and tidied up a big area of grass for them to play on.

The work that you completed on the interactive walls has made such a difference and we are extremely grateful for the time that you have all given so freely.

The Lullaby Trust

The Lullaby Trust is delighted to have the support of the Ipswich Round Table this year. The amazing support of the Ipswich Round Table will help so many families who have been impacted by the sudden and unexpected loss of a baby and will help us spread our expert advice on safer baby sleep. We are committed to supporting research to understand why babies die suddenly and unexpectedly and to find out more about how to prevent these tragic deaths. From all of us here at The Lullaby Trust, thank you so much for your wonderful support!

Cancer Campaign in Suffolk

Cancer Campaign in Suffolk very much appreciates the huge support given by the Ipswich Round Table. They are a great group of individuals that generously donate their time and raise funds for CCiS which enables us to maintain services and to develop new ones. We are working on a new project with Ipswich Round Table that will be launched later in the year, it will have huge meaning to the recipients that a group of men have recognised their need and are willing to give help and support to the project. If you are part of a charity or Ipswich based organisation that needs our help you can reach us through the contact us page on this site.
